in Phleum sp.; from Finland; by Heikinheimo and Raatikainen (1976).
Natural host range and symptoms
- Phleum spp.
- green stripes in leaves.
Transmission
Transmitted by a vector; an insect;
Megadelphax sordidula, Dicranotropis hamata; Delphacidae. Principal
natural vector(s): Megadelphax sordidula. Transmitted in a persistent
manner. Virus retained when the vector moults; not transmitted by mechanical
inoculation; not transmitted by contact between plants.
Ecology and
control
Studies reported by Heikinheimo and Raatikainen (1976): crop
rotation and plough early in autumn.

Experimental host range
Experimentally infected plants
mostly show light green or yellow leaf stripes, seed wrinkling and stunting.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms
- Phleum pratense, Avena sativa, Triticum aestivum, Hordeum
vulgare - light green or yellow leaf stripes, seed wrinkling and
stunting.

Dactylis glomerata, Festuca pratensis, F. rubra, Lolium multiflorum.
